HS-23xx .. Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 20 is this Heavy Duty .38 Special High Velocity Round Revolver designated as .38/44 because of the 'N' .44 Magnum frame in .38 Special cartridge. This has a 4' barrel with shroud and heavy target stocks, a five screw gun. The serial number of S- 1425xx dates the piece about 1950. It is in excellent condition with slight bluing wear about the muzzle and trigger guard, otherwise about 95% original blue remains. The back-strap has been cross checked and a set screw added to rear of trigger guard. The target stocks have most of the original varnish and have sharp checkering, S&W inserts with diamond pattern, but have been nicely opened in the bottom front to allow for adjustment of hammer spring screw. The hammer and trigger have been polished and jeweled, a red insert installed in front blade sight. The action has been honed for smoothness. Program scan ljk gratis.
